People can wonder what kind of piece movie or TV one should watch or try to get into next. Many different genres and subgenres exist, ranging from Dramas, rom-com, plain comedies, and thrillers. However, people must take into consideration the great feeling that one can get from different types of movies, most especially horror movies. The success of horror movies can certainly be seen as not taken into great consideration over time when it comes to the awards that they get. This would be due to the fact that they are barely ever considered for awards or Oscars. Some of the only horror movie Oscar contenders in recent memory would be “Silence of the Lambs” back in the 1990s, or “The Substance” more recently in 2024 and 2025. In general, people assume many things about horror, in how all of the stories can be just about blood and gore. However, there is a lot more to that. For example, “Silence of the Lambs” certainly had the great performances of Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster, and basically made their careers. In addition to this, with “The Substance,” it was a harrowing story about how a woman’s desire to stop aging and keep her career got the best of her in the end. With “The Substance,” this plotline got Demi Moore her first Golden Globe Award. Showing the amazingness of this is the core of what “The Thrill of the Film” will be about, as horror movies are not all just about blood and gore. Overall, hopefully you all will enjoy it in the end!
Some general guidance with watching horror movies would be to mentally prepare for lots of blood and gore, and even if there is not a lot of it, at least someone would be in the mental headspace to handle it all as well.
